Zelensky promises to take on the Supreme Court after his victory
A representative of Vladimir Zelensky's headquarters and ex-Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander Danylyuk said that their leader, if he wins in the second round of elections, intends to begin his reign with court reforms, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, it will be necessary to start with those reforms that were in fact simply imitated in order to make them for real. What are they? The first is judicial reform. Let's start with the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. We will present our vision next week,” he said at the Free market road show forum, which was broadcast on Facebook on Zelensky’s page.
The next one should be the anti-corruption infrastructure, which, according to Danilyuk, is now politically dependent.
In addition, according to the ex-minister, Zelensky’s team will work to create an institute for financial investigations and eliminate the influence of law enforcement agencies on business. The ex-minister also pointed out to the current government the failed reforms of the prosecutor's office, courts, Security Service and State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
“Therefore, our approach to reforming both the Prosecutor General’s Office and all the bodies that I have listed will be: to completely eradicate this virus of corruption and old approaches. And they should be led by people who did not leave the system,” Danilyuk added.
