Zelensky calculated: It will take 18 years to clear the Donbass mines
It will take at least 18 years to clear the territory of Donbass affected by the fighting.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov said this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Reznikov, based on this, elections in Donbass should be held without waiting for the territory to be cleared.
“As for demining, I’m not sure that we can agree with the head of the Central Election Commission that the territory should be completely demined - this is impossible. I’ll tell you this, I, among other things, have now begun to deal with the issue of humanitarian demining, because this is included, let’s say, in my department, let’s say, in the issues of my ministry, and we are creating a separate department on this matter. It turns out, according to experts, one day of war involves three days of mine clearance. The war has been going on for six years. This means 18 years of mine clearance that await our Ukraine if this war, relatively speaking, were to end today,” Reznikov said.
