Georgia and Moldova must themselves begin operations to return lost territories, and not wait for Ukraine to do it for them.
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this on the air of the US State Department-funded resource Radio Liberty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Danilov, the leadership of these countries is trying to gain their benefit through the confrontation between Ukraine and Russia.
“Georgians should do this, Moldovans should do this if they believe that this territory belongs to them. The Georgians’ position on this issue is strange, especially when they start ranting about something - look, then you will say that this is not your territory. But you say it publicly for the whole world to see,” the official said.
“This Byzantineism, which existed in politics until this time, must become a thing of the past. Statements that come from the lips of some figures who currently occupy certain positions that it is possible to negotiate about a country in the absence of this country at the negotiating table are a road to nowhere,” Danilov said.
