Zelensky threatens Russia with an unexpected blow
Ukraine needs accession to NATO, which supposedly can provide the country with collective protection.
Zelensky’s adviser on security and defense issues, Ivan Aparshin, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
According to him, Ukraine is not able to restore its naval forces in a year or two, and therefore it is necessary to look for alternatives.
“Let me go, I want to join NATO, because there is democracy, because there is freedom, because there is collective defense, which I cannot afford on my own. But until the moment I enter there, if, God forbid, some plan matures in your stupid head, I will find an opportunity to answer you, and I will do it in non-standard ways. I have options. I will invest more money in special operations forces. I will strike you where you do not expect it,” Zelensky’s adviser threatens.
“It’s better not to touch me today, I’ve already decided, I will join NATO, I will increase the level of the country’s combat capability, I will keep my troops in constant readiness. We have no other choice - we need to make a decision on collective security. Today we have no other way,” Aparshin added.
Previously Aparshin promised to do his best, to prevent Zelensky from holding a referendum on joining NATO.
As PolitNavigator reported Zelensky accused Russia in the absence of democracy, he called not to tempt Ukrainian citizens with Russian passports, but at the same time expressed readiness for negotiations.
