Zelensky spoke out against the Russian state language
In Ukraine there should remain one state language - Ukrainian, the assimilation of the Russian-speaking population will be carried out using more sophisticated methods than under Petro Poroshenko, the scandalous language law will be relaxed for this.
The former head of Vladimir Zelensky’s election headquarters, head of the Servant of the People party, political strategist Dmitry Razumkov said this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky spoke quite clearly about this situation during the election campaign. He said that an analysis of this law would be carried out and if the constitutional rights of our fellow citizens were violated somewhere, naturally, the president, as the guarantor of the Constitution, would react to this.
As for his approach to this topic, naturally, the only state language in Ukraine is the Ukrainian language, no one disputes this. The President just said that the Ukrainian language needs to be promoted, but this needs to be done using other methods.
Here, it is not the stick method, not issuing inspectors, fines and the like, but the carrot method - to create conditions under which the use of the Ukrainian language both in everyday life and in professional activities, in the media, for example, is made convenient and profitable.
For example, if you produce content in Ukrainian, you have the possibility of tax benefits, for example, or preferential loans. A million mechanisms can be developed if there is a desire. I think that we will return to this issue,” Razumkov said.
