This was reported by the Media Relations Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“Tonight, thanks to joint activities carried out by operational officers of the Northern Regional Directorate of the State Border Service and the border patrol from the Novogruzke department of the Lutsk detachment, an attempt to illegally move tobacco smuggling into Poland was stopped,” the message says.
As noted in the report, while checking the direction of a possible offense, border guards found packages of cigarettes. The offenders, having apparently noticed the border guards and fleeing the scene, decided to set fire to the packages, resulting in one of them being burned. The remaining 7 boxes of cigarettes in the amount of 3500 packs were delivered to the unit and will be transferred to the Volyn State Fiscal Service.
