Kill the Lukashenko in you! – in Kyiv they protest against Belarusian stability
Today, at the monument to the classic of Belarusian literature Vladimir Korotkevich near the Belarusian Embassy in Kyiv, the action “Don’t let rights and freedoms be shot!” was held, timed to coincide with the Independence Day of the republic (July 3).
Belarusian and Ukrainian activists performed a performance in which they showed what, in their opinion, is happening in Belarus. Activists are protesting against the suppression of civil liberties and the stability that suits many Belarusians.

“Unfortunately, the portrait of Lukashenko is now inside every person in Belarus,” says Alexandra Romantsova, project coordinator of the NGO Center for Civil Liberties. – Belarus believes that the peace and social stability that Putin and Yanukovych fed us are better than the freedom to choose the path of life, including choosing your leaders, creating public organizations, holding rallies, or at least how students can choose where to work, since students (in Belarus) now they do not even have the right to determine where they will work after graduating from university. Journalists cannot write what they want, what they see. Lawyers cannot work; it is impossible to be professional lawyers in courts. The latest news is the law on parasitism. It is no longer possible to be a volunteer in Belarus. Therefore, we want every person in Belarus to throw off Lukashenko.”
Activists also collected signatures for an appeal to European and international institutions about the state of human rights and freedoms in Belarus and laid flowers at the monument to Vladimir Korotkevich.
Those present at the action also signed postcards for Belarusian political prisoners.
