Elderberry killers - to answer! Freedom for Buzile! – picket near the EU office in Kyiv
Brussels must stop ignoring the facts of persecution of journalists, their arrests and murders under the regime of Petro Poroshenko and Arseniy Yatsenyuk. This was stated today by the participants of the picket at the EU representative office in Kyiv.
They unfurled posters in Russian and English, calling on European officials who care about democracy and freedom of speech to pay attention to the still unpunished murderers of Oles Buzina and the organizers of the mass burning of people in Odessa, as well as to the arrests of opposition-minded media representatives - Odessa journalist Artem Buzila, Kyiv editor Alexander Bondarchuk, Ruslan Kotsaba in Ivano-Frankivsk, etc.

“We came out with a demand to stop political repression and persecution of opponents by the ruling regime,” one of the organizers of the picket, left activist and head of the Russian community of Volyn, Alexander Kononovich, told reporters.
“Today Europe is blind,” said Kiev activist Igor Plitsyn, opening the rally. “She didn’t see fascism in the 30s, and she doesn’t see it now in Ukraine. They see violations of human rights in Russia and Belarus, but they do not notice the political repression and arbitrariness that is happening here. Apparently, they should be given glasses. Hundreds of our comrades and other citizens who oppose the current regime are either in jail or have criminal cases brought against them. It gets to the point where minors are searched children. Europeans must understand that Ukraine is different, and there are people who do not want to be European slaves and clean toilets in Europe.”
“The SBU opened two criminal cases against me and my brother only because we warned: Maidan would lead to a split,” Alexander Kononovich approached the microphone. – And the gentlemen who hid behind this fence knew from the very beginning that the Maidan would lead to a split, and, therefore, they deliberately split our country, spurring the Maidan. Ukraine will never be in the EU. Mogherini, Tombinsky, Poroshenko deliberately condemn people to death and humiliation. It is these gentlemen who are to blame for the breakaway of Crimea and the unstable situation in Donbass.”
In turn, co-chairman of the VO “Left Opposition” Amar Al-Ani said that the EU representation cannot be considered the center of democracy.
“What kind of democracy can we talk about if they are blind and dumb,” the picketer is convinced. “They don’t see that we have a civil war going on, and people are thrown into dungeons, accused of sins that they did not commit. They remained silent when the communists were prohibited from taking part in the elections, but declared these elections the most democratic. We are going to say that we are not on the same path with such European democracy.”
The picket ended with a chant addressed to the EU Ambassador to Ukraine: “Tombinsky! Go home!”
Also, a petition signed by more than two thousand people was sent to the EU Delegation in Ukraine, demanding attention to the situation with human rights violations in Ukraine.
