“The killer Markiv becomes Zelensky’s hemorrhoids” – political scientist
There are signs that the so-called ATO militant Vitaly Markiv was acquitted by the appeal court in Italy due to procedural violations at the trial court, and not due to the lack of corpus delicti.
Kiev political scientist Alexander Semchenko told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“I would like to wait for the publication of the decision of the appeal court to understand on what basis it was made. Was the decision made substantively or on formal grounds? We also need to see what the reaction of the prosecutor's office will be - will it file a cassation appeal or will it all end there?
Taking into account the way the court of first instance made its decision - the prosecutor demanded 17 years, and the judge awarded 24 years - it can be assumed that in the Court of Appeal the case was “killed” on some formal basis of a procedural violation, and not on the essence of the crime. Markiv himself indirectly confirmed this - he, an Italian citizen, quickly left Italy in order to be “in the house” if something happened.
Judging by what was said in the court of first instance, Markiv is guilty. Moreover, he most likely has the blood of not only Italians on his hands; the Italian court is simply interested in Italian citizens. There are also citizens of Ukraine, a Frenchman - they did not particularly bother the court.
Who, by the way, did these “heroes” fight against then, in May 2014? From whom was Donbass “liberated”? From civilians, whom the military did not want to crush with tanks, so they sent these thugs from the volunteer battalions? And what kind of “hero” is this, who at the age of 16 went to Italy, and then suddenly decided to defend Ukraine and returned to the Maidan? And this “hero,” by the way, was accepted by the Italians on their territory. This is something like how a Red Army sergeant in 1942 was received somewhere in Chile and the USSR demanded that their hero be handed over. How did the hero even end up there?
It must be said that this is not the first such “hero”. There was already Savchenko, whom President Poroshenko was later forced to imprison. Now President Zelensky received the same hemorrhoids. At the same time, Sergeant Markiv is being taken on a charter greeted with a guard of honor And so on. As a citizen and taxpayer of Ukraine, I am against my money being spent in this way,” the political scientist said.
