This was announced by the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv Andrey Krischenko.
According to him, the killer turned out to be a Ukrainian Armed Forces military officer, who was released from prison in 2015 under the Savchenko Law.
“On September 6, in the city center, a man received 7 gunshot wounds. During the search, the identity of the killer was established in almost 2 days. This morning at about 9:00 he was detained in Zhitomir. A weapon was seized from him; the cartridges had the same markings as those found at the crime scene. he is an active military man of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The criminal was detained under Article 208 on suspicion of committing a crime,” he said.
According to him, the crime was committed for selfish reasons and for murder he could be sentenced to life imprisonment.
