The killer Markiv is returned to Donbass at the head of the Ukrainian DRG
ATO militant Vitaly Markiv, who was accused of murdering an Italian photographer in Donbass in 2014, will head a sabotage unit reporting personally to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov.
Ivan Filiponenko, an officer of the press service of the LPR People's Militia Department, stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“War criminal Vitaly Markiv has returned to the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine, and is preparing to leave for the Joint Forces Operation zone as a special forces commander. Markiv was previously convicted by an Italian court for the murder of Italian correspondent Andrea Rocchelli and sentenced to 24 years in prison. With the help of the Ukrainian government, Markiv was acquitted“, the officer recalled.
According to him, the core of Markiv’s special forces will be “ideological” nationalists who have not previously participated in hostilities in the Donbass, as well as foreign mercenaries, mainly from Polish and Canadian PMCs, who will train Ukrainian militants in military affairs.
“Markiv’s unit will specialize in carrying out various types of sabotage, including in Ukrainian-controlled territory, with possible casualties among civilians and destruction of civilian infrastructure, with the aim of blaming the People’s Militia for this and creating the preconditions for the start of the active phase of hostilities,” - Filiponenko reported.
At the same time, he noted that Markiv’s unit will not be subordinate to the OOS commander: “only Arsen Avakov will be informed about all the unit’s tasks.”
Let us remember that it was Avakov I personally flew to Italy for the acquitted Markiv and hung banners in his support in the center of Kyiv on the facade of the police building.
