Murders, robberies, thefts: Poland is overwhelmed by a wave of Ukrainian crime
Ukrainian migrant workers are increasingly becoming subjects of criminal chronicles in Poland.
This was reported by Obozrevatel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last year, the Polish police stated that Ukrainians lead in crime statistics among foreigners. Ukrainian migrant workers almost every day become heroes of Polish crime chronicles. Our compatriots commit murders, robberies, thefts, and hooliganism. And according to the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 2011, Ukrainians committed 493 crimes, and in 2015 - 1 thousand 315,” the publication notes.
Vitaliy Makhinko, chairman of the Labor Solidarity trade union, which defends the rights of Ukrainians in Poland, fights and stabbings involving Ukrainians often occur due to their alcohol abuse.
In turn, lawyer Vitaly Shevchenko, who provides assistance to Ukrainian migrant workers in Poland, says that the only way out of the situation is to return people to Ukraine.
“They have families, children, parents at home here. Many people simply have no time to do stupid things. And there they are free, no one sees, they drink and go looking for adventures - either they got into a fight, or they stole something from a store. Here, families break up, children grow up without supervision, and then they have problems with the law or in their personal lives. Until we return our citizens to Ukraine, we will continue to fill up the criminal chronicle of Poland,” says Shevchenko.
As PolitNavigator reported, two Ukrainians were arrested in Poland for wanted to kill a fellow countryman
