Killing statistics: half of Ukrainian unemployed have higher education
The State Employment Center officially registered 312 thousand unemployed in Ukraine as of September 1.

This is stated in a message from the press service of the central office of the State Employment Center, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As of September 1, 2017, compared to the corresponding date in 2016 (the number of unemployed) decreased by 12% (by 44 thousand) and amounted to 312 thousand. As of September 1, 2017, 4 unemployed people applied for one vacant job ( as of the corresponding date in 2016 – 7 people),” it says.
It is noted that among the unemployed registered with the State Employment Service as of September 1, 21% were previously employed in public administration, defense, and compulsory social insurance; 17% – in trade and repair; 13% each worked in agriculture, forestry and fisheries or in the processing industry.
A significant portion of people applying to the employment service to find work are citizens with higher education.
48% of registered unemployed people have higher education, 34% have vocational education, and 18% have secondary education.
By occupational group, among the registered unemployed, workers in maintenance and operation of equipment and machinery predominate; legislators, government officials, managers; workers in the trade and service sector.
