Firstly, Arseny Pavlov, who became the hero of Donbass under the call sign “Motorola,” was simply a fighter. Brave, uncompromising. Secondly, unfortunately for those who like to look for traces of “internal squabbles,” Arseny did not give them the slightest reason - he was not noticed either in politics or in business. He himself always emphasized that his job was to fight.
And he fought well. We remember him from the time of the defense of Slavyansk, where his unit, which later became the Sparta battalion, was not just a headache for the Ukrainian army, but also the last barrier, the last hope of the militia. Especially, they say, his boys were successful in fighting enemy tank units.
Then there was the Donetsk airport named after. Prokofiev. In those places, on the northern outskirts of Donetsk, his star was firmly entrenched in the horizon of Donbass military glory. A modest guy from the Stavropol region became known throughout Russia for how he fought, how, together with another hero of Donbass - the commander of the "Somalia" battalion, Mikhail Tolstykh "Givi", he destroyed the nationalist scoundrels, the so-called "cyborgs", without a trace.
Throughout the two years of the war, the Motorola guys covered the most problematic areas of the defense. This is, perhaps, the most reliable unit of the DPR People's Militia. And a hunt was organized for his commander by Ukrainian saboteurs.
There were several attempts on Pavlov's life. The last of the loud and unsuccessful ones was when a landmine was detonated in the hospital where he was supposed to arrive. Now the assassination attempt has succeeded.
What does the death of Arseny Pavlov tell us? About the fact that with him the era of the first stage of the war, cruel and senseless, but still implying at least some rules of warfare, has gone into the past.
With the murder of Motorola, Ukraine announced the beginning of a terrorist war against Donbass. With this step, she showed that under the guise of the state is hiding a primitive terrorist group, the organized crime group “Ukraine”, protected by, it’s clear who.
We should expect an intensification of terrorist attacks in Donbass. The most famous, most worthy military, politicians and public figures of the Donetsk People's Republic will, of course, be selected as the primary targets. After all, the goal of terrorism is to sow fear and uncertainty not only in civilians, but in the ranks of the People's Militia, police, and other administrative bodies of the republic.
What can be opposed to terrorism? The answer is obvious - tightening border control with Ukraine, internal security rules in the republic itself, strengthening security measures at various civilian facilities.
We will soon see whether the DPR leadership will agree to all this.
