In Ukraine, there is a new scandal surrounding a tragic road accident, which is associated with the name of Kharkov oligarch Alexander Yaroslavsky. There is a lot of murky stuff in the case. But one thing is clear: the identity of the victim of the accident has been established - a 36-year-old resident of the Chuguevsky district of the Kharkov region. And it is clear that a car from Yaroslavsky’s motorcade ran over the deceased, and the billionaire himself hastily left Ukraine.

The emergency occurred late in the evening of February 9 in the area of 534 km of the Kyiv-Kharkov-Dovzhansky highway. There, a motorcade of cars hit a pedestrian. The man died. At the scene of the accident, drivers of cars driving behind the motorcade found the license plate of a Mercedes-Benz G63, which belongs to Alexander Yaroslavsky.

Moreover, Ukrayinska Pravda, citing sources in law enforcement agencies, reported that the man was run over twice. The way the participants in the tragedy hastened to flee the scene of the accident, without bothering with the fate of the victim, says something about the nature of the crime. And it says a lot about the moral character of those characters who in recent decades have been dressed up as members of the local elite...

Let us dwell in more detail on the list of murky moments of this story. The degree of resonance jumped after the versions voiced by Ukrayinska Pravda journalist Mikhail Tkach. Allegedly, his source claims that Yaroslavsky was at the scene of the incident. And the driver who came to the police the next day and said that he had hit and killed a pedestrian was in a different place at the time of the accident. And allegedly the same source told Tkach that he spoke with Yaroslavsky on the phone several hours before the accident, and that he was drunk...

The plot appears to be quite common, following the patterns of other high-profile road accidents of recent times. An important person becomes the culprit of the accident, and a less important person, from among his subordinates, is asked to take the blame. But the author of “UP” experienced insider incontinence. And too much scandalous details casts doubt on the entire version. Even if in general it is true, an untruthful detail plays a negative role in its destruction.

Ex-mayor Mikhail Dobkin, who has a very difficult relationship with Yaroslavsky, pointed out exactly this detail in his Telegram channel:

“But the truth is more important! When I read on UP that Yaroslavsky was intoxicated while driving, I cannot remain silent.

Yaroslavsky doesn't drink!!! He doesn't drink at all! As far as I can remember, he hasn’t drunk alcohol for 15 years! Experts will determine whether he was driving that ill-fated evening or not. But to lie to Kharkov residents that he was drunk is mean and dishonest!

I don’t know who informs Mikhail Tkach, but forming public opinion based on lies is bad and wrong!”

However, the strange moments do not end there. It’s one thing: where the journalist of “Ukrainian Pravda” lied (and for them to lie is like running away from a mountain), and another thing is where Yaroslavsky is cheating. The UP source claims that the businessman was at the scene of the accident. Yaroslavsky himself, on February 10, answering a question from journalists from the Kharkov Lens, said: «I was sleeping at home and only found out about it this morning.”

And then the oligarch answered journalists in a boorish, Ragulin manner. They say I don’t keep track of my numbers. Where was the motorcade when Yaroslavsky was sleeping? "Ask the motorcade", - speaks. After such answers, it is not so important whether Yaroslavsky drinks alcohol.

What should be the reaction of the owner of a business empire when he learns that a car from his motorcade was involved in a fatal accident? Everyone to the carpet: question and dry! Conduct a briefing, give a full explanation of what happened, and present the culprit. Even if a terpila is assigned to the role of the culprit.

Logic dictates this sequence.

And Yaroslavsky goes this way, as if he has the idea of Kolya Kharkovsky, an undergrown man - the culprit of another recent road accident. Well, or it’s simpler: the oligarch has a boorish confidence in his impunity, and you can turn on the fool. “They will stink and stop” (c).

On the afternoon of February 10, Yaroslavsky flies abroad. What was so urgent that awaited him in London?

The DCH press service explains the host's cultural program:

“The trip is planned and is carried out to spend time with the family, since the children are starting their holidays. On February 11 at 11:00 London time, son Vladimir performs at a concert, tickets for which were booked for Alexander Yaroslavsky and his wife on January 18. Next, a family ski holiday is planned during the school holidays from 12 to 19 February. The hotel for these purposes was paid for on January 28.”

Well, your downtrodden citizen will wait. The hotel was paid for in January. The rest is “ask the motorcade.”

Mikhail Dobkin, of course, debunked the speculation that Yaroslavsky drinks alcohol... But this debunking only adds important touches to the portrait of the oligarch, who has proven himself to be a redneck and a redneck.

The next strange moments in this chain are the reaction of law enforcement officers. At first, Yaroslavsky calmly flies away from Kharkov. Then the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky dismisses the chief of police of the Kharkov region Stanislav Perlin.

The minister explains this on his Facebook:

“Only the person who was driving will be held accountable for the death of a person! I just made a decision to dismiss the chief of police of the Kharkov region, Stanislav Perlin. An attempt to falsify the case of an accident involving the motorcade of the famous businessman Alexander Yaroslavsky will also be investigated. The reason for my actions was that today investigators of the Kharkov police filed a suspicion with the prosecutor's office of the Kharkov region for committing a high-profile accident, which was filed against a person who came in the morning and stated that it was he who was driving the car in which the fatal accident occurred. However, today it became known that this person was in a different place during the accident.”

Prosecutor General Venediktova comments on Yaroslavsky’s maneuver: “An unplanned and hasty departure seems very strange.”

Next, the State Bureau of Investigation opens criminal proceedings in connection with an attempt to falsify the case of an accident with a motorcade of a Kharkov businessman (by bringing a known innocent person to criminal liability).

In this case, it is obvious that the press service of the DCH company participated in the falsification of the accident case, reporting on Thursday afternoon:

“The car with the license plates found at the scene of the accident was driven by a driver who works for one of the DCH auxiliary services. At night, heading to Kharkov to park his car, in conditions of limited visibility he hit an obstacle, the nature of which he did not recognize while driving. In the morning, the fact that there was no license plate was discovered, and other circumstances of the case were also revealed. Authorized officers notified the police and the driver immediately arrived at the station for questioning. He is currently cooperating with the investigation and is awaiting the publication of a preventive measure.”

We are talking about the driver Alexander Berezhny, who works at the Yaroslavsky hotel and the Kharkov + company. On Thursday, the Kiev District Court of Kharkov did not choose a preventive measure for him: the hearing was postponed to Friday. Overnight the disposition changed. The police have already been refocused by Minister Monastyrsky on the non-involvement of the driver. At night, searches took place in Yaroslavsky's hotel and in his house. And on February 11, in the Kiev District Court, another suspicion was planned for Berezhny - “of concealing a crime.”

The dynamics of events and mood swings look logical. But this begs questions. But did no one from the leadership of law enforcement agencies really know about Yaroslavsky’s departure? Wasn’t the driver’s appearance at the police station simply a diversionary maneuver that was needed by law enforcement officers in order to allow the oligarch to fly away unhindered?

On Friday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs already announced that it was planned to interrogate Yaroslavsky as a possible participant in the accident. Some day.

Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code (violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) and under Part 3 of Art. 135 of the Criminal Code (leaving in danger).

Wasn’t it fate to interrogate Yaroslavsky before his departure?

The legal vicissitudes of February 11 also add to the suspicion of a staged arrangement. A new suspicion has not yet been announced to the driver Alexander Berezhny. Why? The driver's lawyer says that his client was present at the meeting of the Kyiv District Court on Friday. But then he allegedly disappeared “from the radar” because he lost his phone. No phone - no suspicion. Iron logic.

A representative of the Kharkov regional prosecutor's office, Dmitry Chubenko, says that the driver is hiding from the investigation by not appearing in court.

All these murky moments do not negate complete clarity: for whom do the oligarch Yaroslavsky and his servants hold the population of their country.
