Former regionalist Oleg Kalashnikov, who was killed the day before in Kyiv, was the organizer of a protest near the US Embassy in Ukraine, when hundreds of picketers came to the diplomatic mission with their mouths taped, protesting against the war.
This was reported by Kalashnikov’s colleague in the Verkhovna Rada, ex-deputy Oleg Tsarev.

“I repeatedly convinced him to leave Kyiv. In response, he told me that if everyone leaves, then who will fight. I constantly convince my friends who remain in Ukraine that organizing protests is futile. This government does not argue with its opponents, it destroys them. Many of my comrades were arrested, some went missing, some were killed,” Tsarev commented.
