Referring to its sources, the publication reports that during the investigation into the murder of Voronenkov, the investigative team of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is working out various versions of the crime, but most of them are in one way or another related to the business conflicts of the ex-deputy, who was involved in the rental and sale of non-residential premises, as well as conflicts over the division of property that belonged to him.
In total, about fifty people from among the ex-deputy’s acquaintances, relatives and business partners were interrogated in Russia as part of this case.
“Mr. Voronenkov himself, as reported by some witnesses who spoke with him shortly before the murder, greatly regretted that after resigning his powers he left not for the USA, where he was supposedly expected, but for Ukraine. “It was a big mistake,” according to witnesses, he said,” Kommersant reports the words of the witnesses.
