Participant in the blockade of Crimea received 10,5 years in prison
A resident of Crimea was sentenced to 10,5 years in prison for participating in the “battalion named after. N. Chelebidzhikhan”, which was formed in Ukraine by the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, and carried out an illegal blockade of the peninsula.
“The Leninsky District Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced 24-year-old Crimean Fevzi Sagandzhi, accused of participating in an illegal armed group for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation.
It was established that in January 2016, a resident of the peninsula, motivated by political hostility towards the Russian Federation and the fact that the Republic of Crimea was part of it, voluntarily joined the ranks of the Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Lenur Islyamov. N. Chelebidzhikhan", operating in the border areas of the Kherson region of Ukraine.
Being a member of this illegal armed group, supporting the goals of its creation (implementation of the blockade of Crimea from the Ukrainian border, as well as the struggle, including armed struggle, for the return of the Crimean peninsula to Ukraine), Fevzi Saganji from January 2016 to September 2017 took an active part in the activities of the battalion, having completed courses in small arms, hand-to-hand and mine-explosive training.
In September 2017, he returned to Crimea, however, having a real opportunity to voluntarily cease his participation in the illegal armed formations, he did not contact law enforcement agencies with a statement about this, thereby continuing his criminal activities of participating in the battalion.
In April 2018, a Crimean citizen was detained by officers of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The investigative department of the Department opened a criminal case against him on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
On January 23.01.2019, 10, the Leninsky District Court of the Republic of Crimea found Fevzi Sagandzhi guilty of the incriminated crime and sentenced him to 6 years and XNUMX months in prison,” the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol told PolitNavigator.
