A participant in the battles in Slavyansk denied the myth about the agreement between the militia and the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The commander of the Donbass militia in 2014, Igor Strelkov, did not agree with the Ukrainian military on providing a “corridor” for retreat from Slavyansk to Donetsk.
Igor Druz, an ex-adviser of Igor Strelkov and a participant in the battles in Slavyansk, spoke about this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a lot of speculation around this now. And even in our patriotic circles, completely harmful myths are launched. Namely, in their cynicism they go so far as to say that Strelkov reached an agreement with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, provided us with a corridor, and so we left. Well, excuse me, I went there myself too...
The conductors mistook the road, and we ended up being the first at the head of the column, although we were behind the column, and we entered Kramatorsk without wanting to. We are driving into Kramatorsk, when I hear cannonade, see explosions - and just those who were in our place were hit by Grads.
Therefore, when scribblers now begin to write that we had a corridor, I say: “Were the Grads also included in the conditions of this corridor?” Druz explained.
