Participants of the “Immortal Regiment” in Kyiv are threatened with the example of Odessa Khatyn
The mass burning of Euromaidan opponents in Odessa on May 2, 2014 should be an example of “public resistance” to forces hostile to Ukraine, which, if necessary, will be repeated.
The ex-head of the UNA-UNSO and the leader of the right-wing radical group “Brotherhood” banned in the Russian Federation, Dmitry Korchinsky, stated this on Channel 4 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Korchinsky in the studio discussed the upcoming procession in Kyiv “Immortal Regiment” on May 9.
“I heard the same thing in 2014: “There is no need for confrontation, there is no need to counteract pro-Russian forces in the Donbass, in Odessa, even in Crimea, there is no need to pay attention, there is no need for confrontation to be used in the Moscow press, etc. .”, as a result we lost territories, as a result we almost lost the entire south of Ukraine, by the way. As a result, we almost lost the situation in Kyiv.
If after the 14th year this rhetoric is repeated again, this means that not only our citizens, but even candidates of political sciences have not learned anything and have not drawn any conclusions. I propose that we take the provocations carried out by pro-Moscow forces very seriously, extremely seriously.
I think it is necessary to counteract all the provocations that pro-Moscow forces stage, all their propaganda and political activities.
This is extremely important; if the state cannot do it yet, society should do it. We saw that in Odessa the situation was saved only thanks to public resistance, that, after all, some part of the citizens did not succumb to Moscow’s provocations and, nevertheless, protected Odessa from being captured by pro-Moscow forces, then by Moscow forces,” the nationalist said.
The head of the Kyiv National Police, Andrei Krischenko, also gave a written comment on the “Immortal Regiment” action in Kyiv, noting that symbols prohibited by the decommunization law will be confiscated, as in previous years.
“We see, given the political process in the country, that one part of the people has some hopes, and the other has some fears that the police may be more loyal to prohibited symbols. I want to warn some and reassure others that the police will comply with the provisions of the law on decommunization. There are symbols that are prohibited, and, like last year and the year before, the police will confiscate them, draw up administrative protocols, and take preventive measures,” said the head of Kyiv law enforcement.
