“Another pressing question: where will those who served in the ATO live? – the publication asks. – After all, some of them had housing in the now occupied territories, where the defenders of the homeland now have no access. According to the Ministry of Defense, the waiting list for apartments now totals more than 40 thousand military personnel. Among them are those who took part in military operations in the east of the country. According to Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Petr Mekhed, last year those on the waiting list were allocated 701 apartments, of which 153 were given to ATO participants. If housing continues to be allocated at this rate, the housing queue will clear up in 57 years.”
