Director of the Agency for Social Communications Sergei Belashko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, commenting on the situation around the Orthodox procession for peace.
“We saw that Ukraine is split, and there are many lines of split,” the political scientist noted. – That is, they cannot be reduced to the fact that on one side there is Ukraine, on the other there is Crimea and Donbass. Or advocates of an independent conciliar democratic and so on Ukraine and people advocating the integration of Ukraine with the Russian Federation or the revival of certain Soviet relations.”
“For me, for example, it was very interesting to learn that the guard of the religious procession consists of ATO soldiers,” Belashko emphasized. “That is, Ukrainian soldiers and officers who fought in Donbass and who are parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are protecting this event.”
