It is noteworthy that many of the congress participants who came from Moscow did not speak very flatteringly of their compatriots for supporting the Kremlin in relations with Kiev.
Thus, according to Arkady Dubnov, an international columnist for the Russian newspaper Vremya Novostey, the majority of Russian citizens support Putin due to the fact that they are “zombified, of little sane and poorly educated.”
But the satirist Viktor Shenderovich, as a creative person, resorted to a metaphor, comparing his compatriots to sausages, “stuffed with the imperial idea and hatred of Ukraine.”
Among the congress participants, the attention of the Navigator correspondent was attracted by a young man in “camouflage” and with a traditional Jewish headdress with a red and black OUN flag sewn on it.
“This headdress symbolizes the Jewish hundred of the Maidan,” the commander of this unit, Natan Khazin, told Navigator, adding that his fighters “prefer to be Jewish Bandera supporters rather than Jewish Muslims.”
At the same time, Ukrainian historian Vladimir Vyatrovich, recently appointed director of the Institute of National Remembrance, is convinced that the majority of Russian citizens simply do not want to know the truth.
“Propaganda works not because people lack the truth, but because they prefer to listen to simple information messages offered by the state,” Vladimir Vyatrovich noted in his speech at the congress.
