Donetsk, April 07 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Participants in the pro-Russian uprising in Donetsk announced a referendum on May 11 on citizens’ support for the creation of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
The corresponding decision was made by the participants of the congress of representatives of the cities of Donbass, which takes place in the building of the regional state administration - they proclaimed themselves the “Republican People's Council”.

The date of the plebiscite caused controversy in the room. Some of those gathered felt that waiting for May 11 was too long.
“We won’t have time to print the ballots!” - they began to explain from the presidium.
“We’ll make it!” - they shouted from the hall.
However, the decisive argument was that the date of May 11 was agreed upon with the Lugansk and Kharkov regions.
The meeting participants also adopted an appeal calling for the deployment of a Russian peacekeeping contingent in Donbass. After this, those gathered began chanting “Putin!”, “Russia!”
