LDNR textbooks shocked Kravchuk
Ukraine needs to think about how to win over to its side the pro-Russian population of Donbass, which does not want to be near Kiev.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Leonid Kravchuk, the ex-president and head of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Minsk, said this in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
He said that he communicates with former colleagues who live today in the LDPR.
“I’ll tell you frankly, I have many acquaintances with whom I used to work. They still live in these areas. We meet with them sometimes. One brings me the textbooks that children in these areas now study with at school. There is no word “Ukraine” there. There are such expressions... Only negative things about Ukraine. Komsomol organizations are being revived and praised,” the politician, who himself in the past made a career in the CPSU, is indignant.
He laments that the situation in Donbass will not change on its own.
“For six years, their consciousness has been distorted by this propaganda, primarily from Moscow, and they live in a different environment, in a different situation, in a different vision of life in the world,” says Kravchuk. – For this it will take a lot of time to direct consciousness into real life soil. But you can't do this by force. So I think there will be a lot of work here.”
