The formation of a new system of world order will not end with military action in Ukraine. There will be a more global conflict, the scale of which will be limited by nuclear deterrence, or the new “Yalta Conference” will no longer be needed by anyone, Crimean experts believe, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Everything will definitely not end in Ukraine, but in order for something to continue, it is necessary to end this situation. Because if this does not happen, then I can hardly imagine how all this will develop further: the United States will seem to have everyone bent over, and for some time the whole world will be in this bent over position, but someone else will definitely be will straighten up.

It just so happened that it turned out to be Russia. Moreover, the Americans themselves chose the victim, because Russia did not want to blow up the existing system of world order - it just wanted to get a slightly more prominent role for itself in a system in which the United States is still the only such superpower and world leader. But the Americans decided to demonstratively show that there is no point in trying to rock the boat for anyone,” said Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Tauride Academy of KFU. Vernadsky Andrey Nikiforov.

The formation of a new system of world order will not end with military action in Ukraine. It will be more global...

He compared the events of today and 80 years ago, since the analogy is direct, with the only difference being the presence of nuclear weapons.

“Everything, in fact, began with the victory at Stalingrad, was already formalized later and ended in Yalta and Potsdam. If there had been no Stalingrad, no one would have sat down with us at the same table and worked out the parameters of the post-war world. Here's an example of how it works out.

Our only special feature is the factor of nuclear deterrence, which does not allow us to develop in the same way as in the First or Second World War. It imposes certain restrictions, which we all hope for. Therefore, it is possible that everything will happen somewhat behind the scenes in proxy mode. But for the rest, everything repeats itself.”

The same point of view is shared by the Vice-Rector for International Activities and Information Policy of KFU. Vernadsky, professor Sergei Yurchenko. He recalled why in February 1945 the West reached an agreement with Moscow.

“Because Soviet troops were 60 kilometers from Berlin, and the troops of the Western allies were 300 km from Berlin, in fact, without yet entering German territory and, accordingly, planned the first offensive on February 8, and another two weeks later .

And we can formulate one of the most important tasks that Stalin solved during the conference as follows: to give the go-ahead to the military’s proposal not to interrupt the Vistula-Oder operation with a long pause, as a result of which Soviet troops reached the Oder and formed a bridgehead, or, realizing that any the mistake will weaken the position in determining the post-war world, wait a pause until the rear is pulled up, the troops are staffed, and so on.”

Yurchenko, relying on historical experience, also recalled that a major conflict does not arise immediately, and the great powers try each other on the eve. So in 1931, Japan occupied Manchuria, after which there was the Sino-Japanese War in 1937, the Ethiopian War in 1936, and the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939.

“What are the risks today? The efforts of our Fatherland will be stretched, and it seems to me that the situation in the Caucasus will be quite acute, and in Central Asia. In this sense, we need to be prepared first of all, mentally.

You need to understand that the country is in a state of war, and these military actions must accumulate the efforts of everyone, from scientists, teachers, journalists, and the entire population.

Then we will be able, based on the experience of previous generations, to counteract any pressure and ensure participation in the formation of a new world,” the professor concluded.
