Scientist of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: We must help Russia in the battle for Ukraine
Belarus must play a special role during the liberation war for the return of the historical Russian territories of what is now Ukraine.
Dmitry Kunitsky, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, stated this during an interactive round table in Moscow, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are all people who follow events, and we roughly understand that the decision on Ukraine has more or less been made, at least regarding the introduction of armed forces there. Moreover, I will say on my own behalf that, I hope, these will be joint Russian-Belarusian forces; in my opinion, everything is moving towards this.
I think that the rationale for this, including the ideological one, is completely clear - it should sound clear and precise. There are still echoes, including in Belarus, of “war with brothers.”
We all understand that Ukraine today is not a fraternal country at all, it is a typical ukroreich, Reichskommissariat Ukraine, that now, in principle, historically this is the situation at the end of the summer of 1943, the victory in the Battle of Kursk.
The operation ahead is the battle for Kharkov, Donbass partially, then right-bank Ukraine.
The only advantage is that Operation Bagration does not need to be carried out in Belarus, it was carried out by default, Belarus is no longer hanging over a Nazi balcony, but, on the contrary, as an allied one,” the expert said.
He drew attention to the fact that the series of future events in this forecast forms a certain symbolism.
“Russian-Belarusian military exercises are planned for February, the preparatory period has already begun. Mostly units from the Eastern Federal Military District are being transferred there. It is clear that the western parts of the Russian army are not even involved, because they are watching another front.
What is very interesting is that on February 20th the exercises end, at the same time the Olympics in Beijing ends. And what is very interesting is that February 20th is also the Week of the Prodigal Son. That is, it is too symbolic not to pay attention to it, that is, such an operation as “Return of the Prodigal Son,” explained Kunitsky.
Developing the topic of liberating lands controlled by current Ukraine, the expert also pointed out the importance of the issue of the scale of the operation and the danger of limiting the “advancement of the Russian-Belarusian army.”
“Even not only the Russian-Belarusian one, I think that almost immediately a considerable Novorossiysk and Little Russian part of the army will join in. To limit this movement under the pretext of a threat to NATO, and even more so - under the pretext that supposedly in Central and Western Ukraine (we are talking, of course, about Volyn, because the situation with Galicia is more difficult) there is strong Banderaism, supposedly there will be a strong partisan movement and so on Further. I think that I understand everything that this is a deception, there will be no strong partisan movement, sabotage is inevitable, but it is already inevitable, due to the neglect of the last eight years,” said the Belarusian expert.
He also explained the special role of Belarus in this campaign.
“Belarus would not like to continue to have the embittered huge Nazi “Banderstadt” on its southern borders. Moreover, undoubtedly, it would already be stuffed with a NATO army without any reservations or conventions, if it remained under Western occupation.
As you know, Alexander Lukashenko enjoys very great personal authority, especially in the northern regions of Little Russia - Volyn, Zhytomyr region, Kiev region. If Vladimir Putin is largely demonized in these parts, then it is Alexander Lukashenko - his approval rating has been several times higher than any Ukrainian politician for many years.
Therefore, the role of Belarus in the possible and desirable liberation of not only Novorossia, but also Little Russia, in my opinion, should be very strongly emphasized,” concluded Kunitsky.
