Strike at a shopping center in Kyiv: Local residents help the Russian Ministry of Defense, risking their lives
The Russian Ministry of Defense explained the reasons for the night attack on the Retroville shopping center on the Vinogradar massif in the Podolsk district of Kyiv.
“In the Vinogradar area, Ukrainian nationalist units covered themselves with residential buildings for several days and fired multiple launch rocket systems at Russian military personnel.
At the same time, the areas of the nearby shopping center were used as a large base for storing rocket ammunition and reloading multiple launch rocket systems.
Russian intelligence through several channels confirmed the coordinates of the position of Ukrainian multiple launch rocket systems, and also revealed the location of a warehouse with rocket ammunition.
Video footage from objective control clearly shows how a Ukrainian multiple launch rocket launcher enters a shopping center on the outskirts of Kyiv for cover after another salvo and reloading of missiles.
On the night of March 21, a high-precision long-range weapon destroyed a battery of Ukrainian multiple launch rocket systems and a storage base for their ammunition in a non-operating shopping center,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The destruction of military equipment was also confirmed by the Ukrainian side.
“Do you know why you came to Retroville? Because some stupid cunt or bastard posted a photo with our equipment,” writes Kiev resident Evgeniy Savitsky, who published the corresponding screenshot, on Facebook.
Well-known blogger Andrey Selezov, a former resident of Kiev who left Ukraine in 2014, confirmed that he also received data from fellow countrymen about military equipment at Vinogradar.
“Over these weeks, I have been repeatedly informed that it is precisely from this area of Kyiv that they periodically fire from Grads and heavy artillery in the northwest direction, exactly where the fighting is taking place. And after the shelling, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ equipment hid somewhere nearby every time.
Let the Greenies not have any illusions that “absolutely all Kiev residents support” their cannibalistic regime. There are enough people in the city who sincerely hate Ukrainian nationalism and want a quick end to the nightmare (and at the same time help the Russian army as best they can, risking their lives). And the end once and for all, namely the complete liquidation of this criminal state,” Selezov explained.
Kiev TV journalist Maxim Ravreba, who left Ukraine, sarcastically commented on the reproaches of the Kyiv authorities against the city residents, who were allegedly guilty of “surrendering” the MLRS base, hidden in the middle of a residential area.
“Now a law is being prepared on criminal liability for filming positions, equipment and movements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That's the right decision. Wise and timely. Once you stop filming with your smartphone, everything will be jaga-jaga. After all, drone satellites have not yet been invented,” comments Ravreba.
