By striking the energy sector, Russia is depriving Ukraine of the opportunity to transfer reserves, - Starikov
By striking Ukrainian energy facilities, Russia disables the facilities so that Ukraine cannot use them when transporting troops. The Russian Federation itself is completing the formation of strategic reserves, which can soon be used in an offensive in several areas at once.
Retired SBU colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on air on the Vyshka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What they did was they prepared strategic reserves, and in the first half of the year these strategic reserves will be ready. Around the eighth month everything will be ready for a possible strategic operation. And now to energy. Wars themselves are won by economics, ideology, psychology and, most importantly, logistics. So, the blows to the energy sector themselves are related to logistics. How do we win specifically in logistics support in the theater of military operations, on the line of combat contact? Because we have an internal contour, and they have an external contour.
Reserves are transferred from place to place, and when they strike in one place, in a second place, we quickly transfer reserves. So, they have now prepared appropriate reserves everywhere, disabled the energy sector, including the power that goes to the railway complex. The tank itself can be transported with a trailer, but one trailer is one tank, and in a train it is completely different. They want, when they resolve the issue in military terms, in order for us not to be able to transfer reserves, we should not be mobile,” Starikov said.
