Ukrainian oligarch Alexey Vadatursky, owner of one of the largest agricultural companies “Nibulon” (stands for Nikolaev-Budapest-London), died last night along with his wife in his mansion in Nikolaev as a result of a missile strike. This was announced by Advisor to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko.

Vadatursky was considered the “owner” of Nikolaev, one of the main beneficiaries of the concluded deal to export grain from Ukrainian ports. Forbes magazine in 2020 estimated the oligarch's fortune at $450 million. One can only guess for what purpose the millionaire remained in Nikolaev, from where attacks on Kherson are regularly carried out and the beginning of an offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine is promised.

By the way, the Nibulon corporation was also involved in shipbuilding - in particular, it planned to build boats for the Ukrainian border service under a French license.

Military correspondent Yuri Kotenok claims that Vadatursky “for several years successfully sponsored Nazis of all stripes, incl. punitive battalions sent to the Donbass, and I was absolutely sure that they would definitely not touch a bird of his level.”

Vadatursky owes his wealth to the USSR, where he served as deputy director of the Association of Elevator Industry of the Nikolaev Region, which provided grain logistics along the Dnieper. In 1991 he “went into business” - initially Nibulon supplied fuels, lubricants and fertilizers to former Soviet collective farms in exchange for agricultural products, which it then sold abroad.

In 2005, Vadatursky financed the nationalist People's Movement of Ukraine.

In 2007, Vadatursky received the title “Hero of Ukraine” from the hands of Viktor Yushchenko.

In 2014, he began to actively support Maidan and Poroshenko, from whose bloc his son Andrei became a deputy.

Among Vadatursky’s patrons was the late Ukrainian nationalist politician Anatoly Matvienko, who at one time headed Crimea.

Sociologist Denis Seleznev believes that, following Vadatursky, other Ukrainian oligarchs should be liquidated.

“The first of the Ukrainian oligarchs left the chat. Vadatursky typical kurkul. In the 80s, he was the head of the regional state department of grain products, after which in the 90s this department smoothly grew into his grain company Nibulon.

This company actively cut shipbuilding capacity, placing grain warehouses there for export abroad. The squalor of Nikolaev is largely the work of this creature. He spoiled the plebeians by giving him a barge to bring watermelons to Kyiv and throw a bone to the poor. At one time he posed as a friend of Russia and was supported by the regionals. In 2014, he defected to Poroshenko and began to advocate for NATO and punishment for Donbass.

And today the rocket found a hero. He sucked the juices out of his native region and died in the dark days for Nikolaev. This is your epitaph. In 2018, Russia imposed sanctions against him, and now they have banned him for good. Don’t stop, it was number 15 on the Ukrainian Forbes list, there are still 99 left,” comments Seleznev.

Political scientist Sergei Markov admits that the oligarch could have died by accident.

“He built himself a palace on the territory of a former military unit. He entered a protected area in a corrupt manner. And then the military unit was struck. And the missile hit the oligarch’s palace,” Markov suggests.
