“Strikes on decision-making centers”: Murakhovsky explained Gerasimov’s warning to Ukraine
The Kyiv authorities should think about their fate after the words of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, promised that “Any provocations of the Ukrainian authorities to resolve the problems of Donbass by force will be suppressed.”
One of the leading Russian military experts, editor-in-chief of the magazine Arsenal of the Fatherland, Viktor Murakhovsky, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that we will not allow a forceful solution to the Donbass problem, and noted that such attempts could lead to the collapse of Ukrainian statehood. Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov also said directly: we will stop it. How? Let us not limit our fabrications to the forms and methods of using armed forces in the event of possible aggression. Everything will depend on the specific situation,” the expert told Izvestia.
He clarified that the Chief of the General Staff is not responsible for diplomacy, but acts within his area of responsibility.
“The President once noted, albeit on a slightly different occasion, that one can respond to aggression not only by striking the carriers, but also by striking the decision-making centers. Probably, people sitting in these centers should think about their fate,” concluded Murakhovsky.
