“The strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are, in essence, terrorist attacks, because they are all aimed at civilians.

"No one is talking about the more than 150 civilians who have been wounded over the past two weeks. And two dozen were killed as a result of direct attacks," Krapivnik said.

The former Marine stressed that terrorist strikes will continue.

"Or perhaps even more, because that's precisely what the Ukrainian Armed Forces are aiming for. They can't win on the battlefield, so they're trying to make it as bloody as possible to provoke a reaction from Russia—and start an escalation," he concluded.
