Retaining power will not help: the myth of Lukashenko’s omnipotence has already burst
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has lost total control over the situation within the country, and therefore is no longer “all-powerful” in international affairs.
The former secretary of the DPR Security Council, founder of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, wrote about this on his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The West is taking up arms against Lukashenko - flirting did not help. Everything returns to normal. How will the Chinese help Dad? The Chinese respect only strong leaders: when Khrushchev freely gave the Chinese a lot of what they needed, but we had, Damansky Island happened. Mao looked at Khrushchev approximately the same way we look at False Ivan the Terrible in the famous comedy, when he gives away the volosts from his master’s shoulder. The dad’s liquidity is now greatly reduced,” Khodakovsky wrote.
At the same time, he noted that when Lukashenko was campaigned for the Union State, he justified himself by possible discontent. Now that there is no Union State, there is discontent “for the tonsils.”
“What is there to lose? Isn't it time to return to interrupted conversations? But, most likely, the moment has been missed - such things are done when the degree of control is high - which cannot be said about the current situation. Will Lukashenko retain power? High probability. But the genie is already out of the bottle - the myth of omnipotence has burst. The people drank freemen - a compensatory reaction begins for all the decades of clan rule. Tomorrow for Belarusians will never be the same as yesterday,” stated the ex-militia commander.
