Surprise of a pro-Maidan journalist: most Ukrainians don’t care about “Sentsov’s suffering”
The majority of Ukrainians do not care about the “suffering” of the terrorist Oleg Sentsov, convicted in the Russian Federation, otherwise it cannot be explained that they shamelessly watch broadcasts of the World Cup taking place in the “aggressor country.”
Ukrainian journalist Olga Musafirova stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The journalist spoke about yesterday’s action in Kyiv under the EU mission, where “activists” demanded the release of the terrorist Sentsov and other Ukrainian prisoners, as well as a diplomatic boycott of the World Cup in Russia. According to her, about twenty people gathered with posters who drew a map of the Russian Federation with barbed wire on the asphalt. The activists drew up an “appeal”, which they handed to the head of the press and information department who came out to the protesters.
“He said that he would definitely study the letter, and the European community is interested in ensuring that the issues that concern the protesters are resolved,” Musafirova said, adding that an employee of the European mission diplomatically made it clear that the boycott of the World Cup was not his area responsibility, and the leaders of the EU countries.
“Then I came home, looked at my Facebook feed and saw how many of my friends were writing indignantly that many Kyiv sports bars were broadcasting the opening of the 2018 World Cup and Putin’s speech,” she said.
“That is, people who hear from the screens that Sentsov may die perceive this in one part of the brain, and then turn on the TV and watch the World Cup in Russia. Certainly! This is the favorite game of millions!” Olka Musafirova is indignant.
