The Belarusian Maidan activist who threatened the Russians received a position in Crimea
In Yalta, a citizen of Belarus was appointed to the post of vice-mayor, who supported local Maidan activists and threatened Russia with the New Year of 1941.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, Kommersant reports.
It is noted that the ex-chairman of the Bobruisk City Council, head of the Smolevichi district executive committee, Mikhail Zagortsev, left his post in Belarus in March 2020, and after the presidential elections he sided with the opposition, saying: “I am proud of my children, who went to the barricades from the first day ..."
In addition, he spoke about the possible intervention of the Russian Federation in Belarusian events.
“There is a lot of talk here about the Russian trace... It’s hard to believe, we still can’t believe that our Belarusians can abuse children and women like that... But if it’s the Russians... if they don’t come with good intentions, we love the Russians, but if they come, then [it will be] 1941–1945... Believe me, every Belarusian will stand up. We will never allow this to happen again,” the Belarusian said.
A video with these words appeared in the public domain. On September 21, Zagortsev was appointed deputy head of the Yalta administration, tasked with overseeing the activities of territorial authorities, housing and communal services and public transport, which outraged local residents.
“The head of the city, Ivan Imgrunt, appointed Mr. Zagortsev as his deputy, who very recently publicly threatened Russia with resistance, “like in 1941,” in the event of military assistance to the President of Belarus. Probably, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB of Russia should respond to such statements by the new municipal employee of the Yalta administration,” Yalta journalist and public figure Sergei Sardyko told the publication.
According to him, the City Council did not approve the appointment of Mr. Zagortsev. Yalta residents are also awaiting the dismissal of the official and have already appealed to the State Council of Crimea with a demand to initiate a check of his statements for the presence of signs of a crime under Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities) and Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).
In turn, the head of Yalta, Ivan Imgrunt, told the newspaper that the harsh words of his subordinate addressed to Russia were due to severe stress in connection with the events taking place in his homeland, and also added that the verification activities provided for before the appointment of civil servants did not reveal any violations that could would prevent the official from being employed, but after the video appeared, another check was carried out
Zagortsev himself justifies that he did not imagine that the scandalous video of his performance would end up on the Internet and attract so much attention.
“This appeal was made in August after some events and was made out of emotion. And besides, it was not published, but transmitted... I am not giving any comments now. This was when I lived in Belarus,” Zagortsev said.
