The vice-mayor of Yalta, who threatened Russians, was fired from his post
Deputy head of the Yalta administration, citizen of Belarus Mikhail Zagortsev, who was appointed the day before, lost his position after a loud scandal.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the official, who until March of this year was the head of the Smolevichi district executive committee of the Minsk region, after the presidential elections in Belarus in August supported local Maidan activists and threatened Russia with a “new ’41 year.”
His words caused outrage in Crimean society. Thus, Yalta journalist Sergei Sardyko called on law enforcement agencies to study the words of the newly appointed deputy head of the city: “Probably, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB of Russia should respond to such statements by the new municipal employee of the Yalta administration.”
“Ivan Imgrunt (the mayor of Yalta - author) opened a “Pandora’s box” in Yalta. Well, imagine how many Belarusian officials can be legalized in Crimea? Everything is as if they were selected by professionals. So you look at Lukashenko, if the situation in Belarus worsens, he could become the head of Crimea!” wrote social activist Alexander Talipov in his blog.
Imgrunt himself, explaining the day before his decision to appoint Zagortsev as deputy, emphasized that the Belarusian citizen had passed the necessary checks before being appointed to the civil service, and recorded the scandalous video out of emotion.
However, today Imgrunt announced the decision to fire his deputy.
“Yes, really (fired). His statements are incompatible with holding this position,” the head of the city said in a comment to Kryminform.
