Threats to journalists opposing the Maidan have become widespread
Like the writer and journalist Oles Buzin, who was killed in Kyiv, threats are also being made against other representatives of the Ukrainian media.
Igor Guzhva, editor-in-chief of the Vesti newspaper, spoke about this at Buzina’s funeral, commenting on the murder.

“Oles Buzina was an opponent of the Maidan, an opponent of the war and advocated the normalization of relations with Russia,” emphasized Igor Guzhva. “These were postulates that he constantly broadcast and did not hide. At the same time, he was not a separatist, he emphasized that he was a supporter of a united Ukraine, against the separatists, but for a different Ukraine. For this, there were constantly threats, slander and slander against him, which may have prompted someone to kill the person. It’s time to stop promoting hatred towards each other and intolerance towards other people’s views.”
The editor-in-chief also noted that journalists of his publication are also regularly threatened.
“They threaten constantly,” he said. “We report everything to the authorities and write statements.” All this is recorded, all the people who are threatening us are known, but there are no results.”
