The departure of Crimea and Donbass was part of the Maidan plan
The Maidan activists, who came to power in Kyiv as a result of the coup, deliberately caused the rejection of Crimea and Donbass in order to get rid of inconvenient voters.
This opinion was shared by ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy communist Spiridon Kilinkarov during the press conference “Elections in Donbass and the Minsk Agreements,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What happened on the Maidan, and after it in Crimea and Donbass, was a violent seizure of part of the territory of Ukraine with the aim of seizing and usurping power,” he is sure.
“I have been involved in political life for more than sixteen years and I know what the balance of power was at the time before the events of 2013-2014. It was “50 to 50” with a slight advantage in favor of people who were oriented not to the west, but to the east. As a result of the annexation of Crimea (2,1 million people) and the conflict in Donbass, some people dropped out, and they had the opportunity to seize power in Ukraine, and, in fact, they took advantage of this.
Therefore, when they talk about a special operation in Crimea, I think that without betrayal within Ukraine and without the interest of the political elites who came to power as a result of the Maidan, this would not have happened,” he noted.
