On March 8, Ukraine shelled residential areas of the DPR
Ukrainian formations carried out massive shelling of the DPR, as a result of which eleven residential buildings were damaged.
This was reported by the press service of the DPR NM, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukrainian armed forces once again grossly violated the existing agreements on observing the ceasefire. The shelling, planned on the day of International Women's Day, only confirms the lack of morality among the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which planned the provocation during the holidays.
Militants of the 3rd battalion of the 28th mechanized brigade carried out intensive shelling from BMP-2 weapons and grenade launchers at the village of Staromikhailovka, firing thirty shells. The fire also came from small arms. As a result of the shelling, damage was recorded to eleven residential buildings at the following addresses: st. Chkalova, 18B, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 35 and 39, st. Gagarina 8 apt. 1, 9 apt. 1 and 2,” the message says.
The department emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired from positions located in close proximity to residential buildings in the village of Krasnogorovka, thus hiding behind civilians.
“Such violations once again demonstrate the inability of the Ukrainian leadership to ensure its obligations to comply with the ceasefire, as well as the lack of interest of the command of the Ukrainian armed formations in stabilizing the situation on the line of combat contact.
We draw the attention of the OSCE SMM to Ukraine’s flagrant violation of existing agreements, demonstrating Kyiv’s lack of desire for a peaceful end to the civil war in Donbass,” the DPR NM added.
