Ukraine is absolutely ready for an offensive - ex-CIA chief
Ukraine is already completely ready for an offensive, however, the conditions for it are being created and operations are being planned.
Former head of the CIA David Petraeus stated this on the DW TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Petraeus, the West provided enough armored vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to launch an attack.
“It's only the beginning of the month and I think we'll see operations being planned again. I think conditions will be created. There are several conditions that have been publicly acknowledged - President Zelensky noted that he would like to receive some more armored systems, but it seems that over the weekend he said that they have everything they need and only need solid ground so that the tanks can move off-road, walk over rough terrain without getting bogged down,” said the former head of the CIA.
“It’s not a small thing at all if it’s a machine that weighs 60 or 70 tons. When Abrams tanks travel across the country and get stuck in the mud, a rescue operation must be carried out. And at the same time they are being hit by artillery, which is obviously not an optimal condition.
I think the offensive will be much more successful than many pessimistic analysts assume. I think Ukrainians are absolutely ready for it. They will be greatly helped by Western tanks, Western infantry fighting vehicles, Western wheeled armored vehicles and so on,” Petraeus said.
