Ukraine announces support for Russian separatists
Ukraine will support separatist movements in the autonomous republics of Russia in order to destabilize the Russian Federation from within.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, head of the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs Anna Gopko stated this in an interview with the Den newspaper, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, Ukraine must be prepared for “irreversible processes” in Russia.
“Over the last three months, we in the committee have begun to work on another foreign policy area - this is an expression of solidarity with the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation. We called on Europe and the world to pay attention to the violation of freedom of speech, national and civil rights of these peoples, which Russia is trying to assimilate. And this is more than 20 million people: Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Tyva, Karelia, Chuvashia, the Republic of Mari El, the republics of the North Caucasus, Kuban,” said the deputy
“We understand perfectly well why Russia is pursuing a policy of assimilation, but we must also be prepared for when irreversible processes begin there - the collapse of the Kremlin regime. We must send a clear signal to these peoples that Ukraine has passed its path of freedom and we will support them. This is where our subjectivity is manifested when we demonstrate solidarity with those who are experiencing oppression in Russia,” Gopko said.
Formerly a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from Svoboda Andrey Ilyenko stated that Ukraine should take advantage of Russia’s internal contradictions, including interethnic ones, and incite the collapse of the Russian Federation.
