Ukraine attacked the DPR headquarters in Mariupol: there was shooting in the city
Kyiv, June 13 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – On the night from Thursday to Friday, National Guard forces attacked the DPR headquarters in Mariupol, cordoning off the city center. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, announced the success of the operation against pro-Russian rebels.

“A planned operation is underway to eliminate the fortified area of DPR terrorists, led by a criminal authority nicknamed Chechen. The area of the operation in the center of Mariupol is cordoned off. Units of the National Guard of Ukraine, Special Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Azov” and “Dnepr-1” are taking part in the operation. Checkpoints around Mariupol are provided by armed forces.
The operation began at 4.50 am. It's going according to plan. Successfully. All key terrorist strongholds have been taken under control at this time. The armored vehicle was knocked out, the terrorists' sniper points were destroyed. Terrorist casualties are high. There are no losses on our side - two soldiers are wounded,” Avakov said.
Deputy Oleg Lyashko, in turn, stated that the fighters of the Azov battalion managed to drive out the pro-Russian rebels from the DPR headquarters in Mariupol.
“Several fortified buildings were taken. Weapons and explosives were seized. The barricades surrounding the fortified building where the armed militants were holed up were blown away by heavy machine guns. The terrorists' BRDM was hit by a grenade launcher. 5 terrorists destroyed. There were no casualties among ATO fighters. The perimeter is tightly cordoned off. The terrorists were asked to surrender. If they refuse, there will be an assault,” says Semyon Semenchenko, commander of one of the Ukrainian battalions.
Lyashko has different data on losses - according to him, one of the Ukrainian fighters was seriously wounded, three more were slightly injured.
