In particular, sanitary and epidemiological control at checkpoints across the state border has been strengthened and readiness has been ensured to carry out anti-epidemic measures provided for by the comprehensive plan for sanitary protection of the regional territory, the ministry reassures.
“Today, especially air flights from countries involved in the epidemic process are under high traffic control: Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. Passengers from these flights, if signs similar to the clinical indications of Ebola (body temperature more than 38 degrees) are detected, undergo an appropriate medical examination,” the department’s press service said in a statement.
In Kyiv, the Kiev City Children's Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital and the Alexandrovsk City Clinical Hospital are ready to work with highly dangerous infections today, he said.
According to the acting Chairman of the SSES of Ukraine Alexander Kravchuk, the likelihood of infection with the virus during air travel is low. “Ebola is not transmitted by airborne droplets, but only through direct contact with biological secretions from the body of patients. Therefore, travelers are advised to avoid these contacts, as well as to observe basic rules of personal hygiene, in particular hand washing and antiseptic treatment,” the specialist noted.
According to the 1+1 TV channel, a man who had contact with a foreigner who was hospitalized in Guinea with suspected Ebola fever is now being monitored at the Alexandrovskaya Hospital in Kyiv.
As reported by regional media, sanitary doctors in the regions received special instructions. Particular attention is paid to the Carpathian and Transcarpathian regions, where most of the “travelers” come.
Recall that the Ebola outbreak began in February this year in Guinea, and later spread to neighboring Sierra Leone and Liberia. The authorities of neighboring states began to close their borders.
