Ukraine is afraid of being left without Belarusian fuel – Pogrebinsky
Ukraine will not one hundred percent join Western sanctions against Belarus and completely terminate relations with the neighboring country.
The famous Kiev political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky said this on air on the PolitWera Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert emphasized that anti-Belarusian sanctions could lead Ukraine to the situation where the country’s President Vladimir Zelensky will have nothing to refuel his car with.
“I think that so far Ukraine has not crossed any “red line” in this regard with Belarus. Everything regarding economic relations remains the same, and here, rather, it’s a matter of the position of Lukashenko himself, how he will act. The fact is that Ukraine is highly dependent and cannot do without fuel supplies from Belarus.
Somehow they will get out. They cannot help but join - our Constitution states that this is our goal. And therefore we must, with everything that the European senior comrades told us, join all this and so on...
They cannot help but join, this is strictly monitored by the representative of the European Commission in Kyiv. He will call Zelensky on the carpet and say: “What are you doing anyway?” Therefore, I think that since critical exports from Belarus cannot be replaced today - of course, you can buy fuel on the world market, no problem, but, firstly, this cannot be done quickly, it will be more expensive, it will end in the fact that there will be nothing to charge Ukrainian tanks and a car for President Zelensky.
And the Ukrainian leadership understands this, I remember an interview with Kuleba, who extorted that we have a special situation, we cannot join one hundred percent,” Pogrebinsky said.
Previously, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba stated that Ukraine froze all contacts with Belarus due to the processes taking place today in the republic, and also did not recognize the results of the presidential elections in this country.
At the same time, PolitNavigator wrote that official Kyiv continues purchase diesel fuel from a neighboring country.
