Ukraine threw all its strength into missile launchers against the Russians in Azov
The creation of a Ukrainian Navy base on the Sea of Azov, announced by Kyiv officials, will not be as effective as the appearance of missile systems here that can deter the actions of the Russian fleet.
Naval Forces Marine Pavel Suhan, one of those who in 2014 refused to take the side of the people of Crimea and swore allegiance to the Ukrainian nationalists who came to power in Kyiv as a result of a coup, writes about this on Facebook.
“We should not build a naval base in Azov, but coastal missile systems. When “Neptune” is brought to fruition, then stage it. Then everything will be okay. This will be more than enough for Azov,” assures Suhan.
He explained that Neptune is “an analogue of the X-35” (a subsonic low-altitude anti-ship missile developed in the 1980s in the USSR, designed to destroy ships with a displacement of up to 5000 tons).
“It’s quite a successful rocket. Not an innovation, but a normal middle ground. The main thing is that we have never done them. And this is already a step forward,” the Marine boasts.
“According to conversations, all efforts have now been thrown at her. Everything that went into tanks went into rockets. They want to accept it by the end of the year. Which, of course, is unlikely, but the process will speed up - that’s for sure,” added the Ukrainian serviceman.
