Ukrainian security forces detained an employee of Chernomorneftegaz on the border with Crimea and charged him with treason.

According to Ukrainian media, the detainee went for a visa-free passport - this is the head of the transport department of Chernomorneftegaz, former deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Crimea, Nikolai Fedoryan, who retired to the reserve in 2011.

Interestingly, the fake “Ukrainian prosecutor’s office in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” brought charges against Fedoryan for collaborating with the FSB, claiming that he helped identify members and supporters of the terrorist group Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in the Russian Federation.

The detained Crimean citizen is accused of providing Russian security forces with transport, which was used during searches and escorting detained extremists.

“It has been established that the suspect, since 2012, held the position of head of the transport and aviation department of JSC State Joint Stock Company Chernomorneftegaz. After the occupation of the Crimean peninsula by the Russian Federation in 2014, he remained to work in the specified company, which was illegally seized by the occupation authorities of the peninsula and re-registered under the legislation of the Russian Federation under the name “State Unitary Enterprise “Chernomorneftegaz”.

Using his official position, at least since March 26.03.2019, XNUMX, he provided assistance to occupation law enforcement officers, namely the “Service for the Protection of the Constitutional System of the Directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea” in organizing a number of illegal searches in the households of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, who were persecuted for their alleged participation in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization.

The suspect systematically provided occupation law enforcement officers with vehicles during searches, as well as for escorting illegally detained persons to the pre-trial detention center and the “Office of the FSB of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea,” the report says.

Crimean political scientist Sergei Kiselyov told PolitNavigator that another incident of detention while traveling for a Ukrainian visa-free passport is evidence of the need to introduce a lustration procedure on the peninsula before appointing former Ukrainian figures to positions.

“Questions for those who make such people high-ranking in Russian Crimea. Because, knowing the moral qualities of this person for a long time, I would have very big doubts about promoting him in any way at all. But this is private, personal, which has little relation to the subject of conversation.

As for the subject, of course, many people, especially those who spent the best years of their lives in the fight for the return of Crimea to Russia, have questions about why too many of the highest echelons of the Crimean government or government agencies were detained in the territory Ukraine lovers of Ukrainian passports. Perhaps, indeed, it is time to raise the question of filtering such people at the border, and in general about the Ukrainian passport - do Crimeans need it, especially considering that in Ukraine bills are already being submitted on filtering and arresting people of the “aggressor state”.

I believe that this is an obvious flaw, and such officials raise the question of the need for lustration. At one time they deliberately abandoned it and reset Ukrainian history, but, apparently, it was not reset for everyone. Some people still can’t get out of this Ukrainian history, to put it mildly. Essentially, these are potential traitors. Why they are needed in government agencies, I don’t understand,” Kiselyov said.
