Ukraine will be “anti-Russia” and become “anti-Europe”
Following the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to the United States, it becomes clear that the United States will continue to support Ukraine as a project directed not only against Russia, but also against Europe.
Vasily Volga, founder of the Union of Left Forces party, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the fifth convocation, told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this comment.
“Zelensky’s visit was covered as widely as possible. The United States has demonstrated its high interest in Ukraine. The main question, the answer to which everyone in Ukraine is expecting today, and which Zelensky was interested in, is the question about Mrs. Merkel, that is, this is the question about introducing the Steinmeier formula into the Ukrainian parliament. Zelensky received a satisfactory answer to this question. Zelensky and his administration’s greatest fear was obviously that Biden would support Merkel’s demands in this regard. We are talking about legitimizing the Minsk agreements at the legislative level. Everyone believes that this will be the beginning of a civil war, and the radicals here are already preparing for this,” Volga noted.
“Many expected that Biden and Merkel would insist on this and were preparing for this; they expected that Zelensky, upon his return, would begin a campaign to “whitewash” the Minsk agreements, begin to say that the Steinmeier formula is good, it should be submitted to parliament. Of course, we can understand this for sure within two to three weeks. But, apparently, Biden still told Zelensky to spit on Merkel and not pay attention to what was agreed upon with her, and this also applies to Nord Stream 2. There is no need to take any Steinmeier formula anywhere. And Biden, most likely, promised to continue to support Ukraine as an “anti-Russia” project and help Ukrainians to be cannon fodder in the war with Russia,” the politician believes.
“The administration of President Zelensky has received broad agreements in the defense sector. There is talk of the need to invest $3 billion in defense enterprises in Ukraine. This is pretty serious. The 8 billion that Zelensky spoke about in the context of the need to modernize Ukraine most likely imply trade in Ukrainian land. So much money can enter Ukraine during the first speculation in land and its sale to transnational corporations. Americans are generally interested in two areas in economic relations with Ukraine – the agricultural complex and the banking sector. Simply put, how, through which banks can they buy this land,” added the ex-deputy.
“Of course, all investors in the West expected the guarantees that Zelensky voiced. What are the guarantees that their property will remain their property. In a word, the first impression from the meeting is that the course towards building Ukraine as “anti-Russia” will be continued. The United States will actively support this project to spite Germany. Thus, Ukraine will be a huge bone in the throat of relations between Germany and Russia, Europe and Russia, which will not allow infrastructure projects to be implemented. Ukraine will be hostile both towards Russia and towards Europe,” Volga said.
