Ukraine will purchase Russian Covid-19 vaccine through Israel – economist
Ukraine will eventually come to the point where it will purchase the Russian vaccine against Covid-19, but not directly, but through “gaskets”, as it does with Russian diesel, gas and coal.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Suslov, at the same time, Ukrainian taxpayers will have to pay additional funds for this.
“We buy a lot of things this way - we buy up to 40% of gasoline and diesel fuel, including for our armed forces in the Donbass, from Russia through Belarus, otherwise all our military equipment would have been standing for a long time if it weren’t for these purchases. Therefore, it means we will buy [the vaccine] through Israel. Coal was also bought through other countries, registered under the “Rotterdam Plus” system and the like.
But it will cost us more. The whole question is what kind of gaskets there will be. This European gas, which we bought for five years in a row under Poroshenko, was Russian gas, which was simply processed through front companies in the European Union. We, in fact, overpaid huge sums, there was one and a half billion dollars overpaid, compared to if gas was bought in Russia. Therefore, something similar will obviously happen with the vaccine,” Suslov said.
