Ukraine will lose $2 billion annually after the commissioning of Nord Stream 2
After Russia launches the Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream gas pipelines, the profitability of the Ukrainian gas transportation system will drop from three to one billion dollars a year.
Ukrainian propagandist Yanina Sokolovskaya, who serves the administration of Petro Poroshenko, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s a funny Russian image project, when seventeen billion are invested in order to deprive Ukraine of two, because after the launch of Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream, we will lose two-thirds of our revenues from the gas transportation system. We will earn not three billion a year, but one billion, because pumping will still go through the Ukrainian system. Both Gazprom and your president have stated this,” she said.
Earlier, Ukrainian energy market expert Yuriy Korolchuk stated that Petro Poroshenko, who demanded guarantees to maintain the volume of Russian gas pumped through his territory, at the last negotiations with Chancellor Angela Merkel was forced to accept the role of a backup route at the time of peak loads in the cold.
As PolitNavigator reported, recently the influential Kiev weekly Zerkalo Nedeli wrote that Ukraine's war against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is lost, and the bet on US sanctions did not work.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko asserts that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is being built only forto leave the Ukrainian army without funding.
