“Ukraine will greet Russian troops with flowers”
If the Ukrainian government decides on large-scale military aggression in the Donbass, the Russian army, which will come to defend the republics, will no longer stop forty kilometers from the capital, as it did during the war in Georgia in 2008.
This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian military historian Yuri Dudkin on the Internet channel “Voice of Truth,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, Russia will be forced to send troops to protect its citizens, of whom there are more and more every day on the territory of the LPR and DPR.
“In both Donetsk and Lugansk, first of all, those who serve in the People’s Militia receive Russian passports, that is, these passports are issued to military personnel first of all.
In the event of a massive military action, Russia will have to take appropriate measures to protect the citizens of the Russian Federation. Putin himself spoke about this, it’s no secret. This is the first one.
Secondly, you remember 2008, Georgia, that Russian troops stopped 40 kilometers from Tbilisi. Therefore, I’m afraid that if something like this starts, and Mr. Zelensky allows himself to do it (or rather, it’s not he who allows it, but they order him - he doesn’t understand anything himself, it’s unlikely that he’s capable of anything)...
But if he is ordered to carry out this provocation, perhaps even involving some remnants of the Ukrainian aviation, it will be a nightmare, of course. I think that the Russian army, having come to the aid of the DPR and LPR, will not stop 40 kilometers from Kyiv. And some Pskov airborne division, having landed here in Kyiv, will literally occupy all important government facilities within half an hour,” Dudkin said.
At the same time, interviewer Yuri Kot noted that there will be no one to resist the Russian army in Kiev: “When the Pskov Airborne Division appears in Kiev, they will have a problem fighting, because the people of Kiev will shower them with flowers, because they appeared here. “I am sure that today all of Ukraine would welcome Russian military and peacekeepers with open arms, not to mention Donbass.”
Dudkin agreed with him: “That’s what I’m saying, that Russia’s peacekeeping mission, both in Karabakh and here, would play a decisive role.”
